Children’s clothing should be practical and suitable for play. Please do not send your child in their best clothing. Active play and messy activities are important aspects of the preschool program. Please be careful that your child’s clothes do not restrict his/her participation. Preschool recommends comfortable shoes such as joggers or sandals that are secure on the children’s feet to allow them to run and climb. Children are able to take their shoes off to play. Thongs are discouraged. Hats and t-shirts featuring the preschool logo in a range of colours are available for purchase from the office for $12 each. Warm jumpers $20 each.
Shoalhaven Community Preschool has children with allergies, therefore we are allergy aware and ask families for their support to reduce the risk of a life threatening allergic reaction at preschool by following the nutrition policy and reading notices as they appear at preschool. This includes Preschool being nut free every day.
Shoalhaven Community Preschool is a NSW Health Munch and Move Centre. Munch and Move is a lifestyle program for children aged 3-5 years attending preschools or long day care centres in NSW The focus is on healthy eating, reduced screen time and development of fundamental movement skills through active play. We promote healthy eating and good food choices to support healthy growth and development.
Shoalhaven Community Preschool has a parent and child library that families may borrow from. The parent library contains reference books and books that are relevant to families with young children. The child library is a selection of children’s books to support early childhood literacy. Parents access the library by writing their child’s name on a card along with the book and date. Please return books the next week and sign the card. Parents should discuss your interest with an educator to borrow any resources that preschool may have available. Notices will also be placed in the newsletter.
